Building a life
I want to live.

I'm Brent—a husband, a small business owner, a student of finance, and a photographer. I'm figuring out how to make a more intentional life, starting with what I have.

My story

A little more freedom.
A little more intention.

I work a warehouse job, help run a small business with my wife, and have a lot of interests competing for the same hours. For a long time, I've been trying to work out how all those pieces fit together.

This website is a place to connect them. I'm working toward paying off consumer debt, building a three-month emergency fund, and eventually investing for the future. Along the way, I'm experimenting with reselling sports and Pokémon cards on eBay and learning what makes a small business work.

But money is only part of the story. I enjoy business and personal development books, the questions they raise, and the challenge of putting an idea into practice. Photography—especially film—reminds me to slow down and see what's already in front of me.

I don't have every answer. What I can share is the process: the decisions, the experiments, the setbacks, and the small things that make a difference.

Earn. Learn. Live.

Three words.
One direction.

Earn.

Build useful skills and small businesses that create more choice. Understand what actually remains after the work and the expenses.

Learn.

Stay curious. Read, study, try things, and let experience change my mind. Make learning part of daily life.

Live.

Make room for my wife, creative work, and the ordinary moments that matter. Remember what the work is meant to support.

An open journal

Come along for the process.

If you're building something small, trying to improve your relationship with money, or finding room for creativity, I hope you'll find something useful here.
